During stormy rain and snow, the guests loved the setting and comfortable room, but lost power for hours on two successive days. The first outage brought no communication; they expected updates, useful supplies and a management contact. The second was handled more communicatively. Their gas fireplace and large furnished deck were welcome. Concierge planning, a birthday display and responsive housekeeping and valet pleased them. They did not try the restaurant because of the outage or the available loan cars because they had their own. Cookies and the available town shuttle and golf-cart transport were further positives, and they hoped to return in better weather.

Bishop’s Lodge felt private yet close enough to Santa Fe’s old town galleries and restaurants. Friendly staff, on-site dining, trails and archery made it an enjoyable visit.

Beautiful views and clean rooms pleased the guests, but arrival lacked luggage help and a welcome drink and involved a two-hour room wait. A requested loan car was declined as unavailable despite their belief that cars remained. Food was average, though the green juice was good, and the unchanging menu disappointed. Rain prevented hiking and left little alternative activity. They would prefer a downtown hotel next time.

The guests liked the Southwestern buildings, good daily breakfast and an accommodating outdoor yoga class. Service fell below expectations for Auberge, however: requests at reception were ignored several times. They could not give staff service the praise they had hoped to.

For their anniversary, the guests received a room upgrade and daily personal touches during a stay they loved for service, food and rooms. They cautioned that outdoor walks to some rooms could be long and cold in freezing weather, though this did not spoil their visit.

The guests loved how historic buildings fitted into the setting, with spacious, cozy rooms and Tesuque mountain views. The cedar hot tub in the snow, good food and friendly staff pleased them. Spa and gym facilities felt underwhelming and needed improvement, but hiking on the grounds was a highlight.
