Advisor site inspection · Advisor stayed overnight
Reported visit · October 2026
During an October 2026 stay and inspection at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, the advisor liked the refreshed rooms, pools and spa, with the property's midcentury character still apparent. Art from the Rockefeller family's collection added personality. Service was a highlight, with staff remembering returning guests by name. The beach was the main reason the advisor would choose the resort. Food was acceptable rather than special, and they would plan at least one meal elsewhere. Golf was beautiful but cost more than nearby alternatives; room rates also seemed higher after renovation. The advisor especially favored it for couples in their thirties and older seeking a quiet, attractive place to relax. Children were welcome, but there were no slides or similar attractions.
