Advisor stayed overnight
Reported visit · October 2024
During a three-night mini-moon in October 2024, the advisor and their partner found Kimpton Mas Olas near El Pescadero exceptionally quiet, with perhaps ten other guests. Staff attributed this to a soft-opening period and the slower season. A maintenance problem in the original room led to an upgrade to a beach-facing villa with a private pool and indoor and outdoor showers. The advisor loved the native planting, peaceful spa, cooled lap pool and well-equipped gym. The spa offered sauna, steam and hot-tub facilities, with fragrance-making experiences using local plants also available. Centro served breakfast and lunch; during that stay, Botánica opened for dinner for half the week and Kahal for the other half. Both were good, with beachfront Kahal especially striking. The couple stayed on the property throughout. Exploring would require a car or car service; a few nearby cafés and restaurants lay along unlit dirt roads and appeared seasonal. The hotel-arranged airport transfer cost $200 one way for a journey of about seventy-five minutes. Dinner mains were at least $30–40 and a fifty-minute massage was $200. The advisor loved the relaxation while emphasizing the substantial costs and unusually low occupancy.
