During a May 2026 family stay for a birthday at Kimpton Gray, the advisor enjoyed a quiet Two Queen room in the hotel's historic Chicago Loop building. The modern layout worked well for two adults and their three-year-old, although the bathroom's sliding barn door offered limited privacy. Staff were warm and acknowledged the birthday with a welcome amenity. Daily breakfast at La Bella was included in their VIP booking, and evening wine hour, children's art supplies and games were appreciated. The rooftop and Library Bar looked inviting, but the family did not try either. Millennium Park was about ten minutes away on foot, with restaurants, shopping and public transport close by. The advisor recommended the hotel as a stylish downtown base and also noted a third-night-free promotion available through the booking portal at that time.
