Advisor site inspection · Advisor stayed overnight
Reported visit · July 2023
On a three-night post-cruise stay and inspection in July 2023, the advisor valued InterContinental Barcelona’s unusually large rooms and facilities, while noting its Montjuïc location was outside the tourist center. Taxis waited outside, the metro was about ten minutes away on foot, and airport and cruise-port journeys were described as roughly twenty minutes. Contemporary coastal-inspired design followed a 2020 renovation. Classic rooms started around 42 square meters, with sitting space, separate showers and baths, and a toilet area with bidet. Two-double rooms suited families, and adjacent king and double rooms could share a closable outer foyer rather than an internal connecting door. Club arrangements then included dedicated arrival, concierge, breakfast, drinks, snacks and 4:30–6:30 p.m. tapas. The advisor praised the breakfast buffet and rooftop views and noted the small pool, spa and thermal facilities. A dinner-only tasting restaurant and temporary summer rooftop dining added options. The account also described seasonal yoga and music and a planted Club terrace. A time-limited beach-club offer then included a shuttle and loungers for qualifying guests through September 3, with 24-hour booking required. The advisor also described benefits for clients using an eligible IHG booking channel through an advisor: breakfast, a welcome amenity and a $100 food-and-beverage credit, with early arrival, late departure and upgrades subject to availability. They would recommend the hotel to families, couples, business and cruise travelers who accept being outside the center.
