At a May 2025 inspection of Palazzo Doglio, the advisor liked a stylish but relaxed city base in Cagliari, arranged around a piazza shared with private residences, boutiques and restaurants. The historic building and softly toned modern rooms gave it character. Prestige rooms offered more space than the entry categories, while Executive rooms seemed particularly suitable for longer stays. The piazza’s hotel restaurant, patisserie, pizzeria and South American dining options made evenings convenient without leaving the complex. Access to the port and airport also made it useful for business travel or the beginning or end of a Sardinia trip. Wellness was the clear limitation: the fitness room was basic, and the small spa felt dreary to the advisor. It was adequate as an on-site extra rather than a reason to book a spa holiday. The strongest appeal was an easy, elegant city stay with a neighborhood atmosphere.

Restored historic character and contemporary comfort worked together well for a city stay, particularly business travel or cultural exploring. Lunch at Osteria del Forte was excellent, featuring Sardinian and Italian dishes. The advisor would not choose this urban property for visitors whose main goal was a classic Sardinian beach holiday.
