At a September 2026 La Compañía inspection, the advisor loved Casco Antiguo’s walkable restaurants, cafés and shops, plus the hotel’s central garden and large avocado tree. Dining ranged from Italian and Mexican venues to a sports bar, with rooftop pool space for relaxing. French, Spanish and American wings had markedly different décor, so room placement should match the guest’s taste rather than be treated as interchangeable. Entry rooms looked attractive but small; suites provided separate living space and particularly large bathrooms accessible from living room and bedroom. The advisor recommended checking the assigned wing and requesting a preferred style when available.

Original walls, Jesuit ruins and three distinct architectural wings gave character without making the hotel feel like a museum; it remained polished and comfortable, with an especially good bed. The advisor particularly liked it for couples, culturally curious travelers and celebrations or weddings among the ruins. The wings differed substantially in style and room layout. A specific wing was not guaranteed through the GDS booking channel, so the advisor recommended emailing a preference to the hotel ahead of arrival. The report described Hyatt Privé upgrades as confirmed by the hotel, while Virtuoso upgrades remained subject to availability; those were the booking arrangements understood during this visit, not universal benefits. The authentic historic setting was the main reason the advisor would choose it over another Panama City luxury hotel.
