Advisor stayed overnight
Reported visit · February 2024
During five honeymoon nights at Gili Lankanfushi in February 2024, the advisor enjoyed a distinctive barefoot-luxury experience. The huge Lagoon Villa had open-air living space, a deck, hammock and outdoor shower, but only the separate bedroom was air-conditioned. Reaching the bathroom at night required crossing the villa; a Residence used on departure day had an additional toilet near the bedroom. Varied dining, the Japanese restaurant, flexible special-meal preparation, attentive Mr Friday service and the spa were excellent. The advisor recommended reserving the Japanese restaurant. A separately paid beach dinner was a highlight. The drawbacks were heavy boat traffic near Malé, black smoke from a nearby industrial-looking island and limited snorkeling directly by the villas. Jetty 3 appealed for clear-water views and avoided looking straight at that island, while the advisor suggested Jetties 1 or 2 for more marine life. Despite enjoying the stay, the advisor would probably choose another Maldives resort next time to avoid those compromises.
