Choosing the right accommodation mattered: the two main buildings suited different preferences, while stand-alone bungalows offered private terraces or plunge pools. Taverna 37, Pelagos and Mercato provided different dining styles, with enjoyable breakfasts and cocktails adding to the experience. A one-night September 2025 familiarisation stay at Four Seasons Astir Palace surprised the advisor with the size and variety of the grounds, around thirty to forty-five minutes from central Athens depending on traffic. Their Nafsika room was bright, spacious and sea-facing, near the large family pool; this building operated year-round at the time. Arion felt cosier and somewhat more adult-oriented, though children were welcome, with sea or pine views, the spa and adults-only pool. The secluded bungalows had a playful retro character that appealed for couples. Multiple beaches, pools, restaurants and a kids’ club offered enough to do beyond a quick pre- or post-island stop. The advisor saw broad appeal for families, couples and multigenerational groups wanting room to explore and unwind.
