Following an April 2026 stay at COMO Shambhala Estate, the advisor praised the lush setting above a river gorge near Ubud and the understated focus on wellness. Rooms within multibedroom villas shared living areas and pools reserved for those villa guests, an arrangement the advisor considered appealing for families, small groups and some solo travelers. Dining combined excellent Indonesian dishes with COMO’s health-conscious cooking. The advisor particularly enjoyed a signature massage; yoga, Pilates, meditation and other classes offered further options. Sauna, steam and cold-plunge facilities complemented the spa. A separate spa and pool area deeper in the jungle near the river was especially memorable, with private lunches available by arrangement. Reaching it involved roughly 350 steps, an important access consideration. The natural surroundings and quality of the treatments made this a strong personal recommendation for a quiet retreat.
