The guest thought the hotel had some charm but felt part of a highly planned Costa Mesa complex, sharing its outdoor area with other hotels and apartment buildings. Their Executive Suite looked old and reminded them more of a larger Courtyard than the collection-hotel experience they expected. The system did not recognise their Luminous booking status, so reception had to add the associated benefits individually, an awkward process for them.
