The guest loved the beautiful resort setting, comfortable unit and breathtaking terrace view, and found most staff friendly and helpful. Their problems were with management and concierge, whom they found unfriendly and unwilling to accommodate a companion's illness-related cancellation and other issues. During renovation of the permanent spa, treatments took place in a second-floor guest room, with disruptive noise from neighbouring rooms. The treatments were made complimentary, but they would have preferred a genuinely relaxing experience and felt the temporary arrangements fell short of the standards they expected from a five-star resort. They had paid for two adjoining units, including the absent friend's, sharing a key-card-access foyer. From about 7 am each morning, housekeeping repeatedly used that foyer to store and collect minibar supplies and other items. The noise woke them on some mornings; on others they were already awake. They did not raise this concern, partly because they wanted no more time dealing with management. Apart from that issue, housekeeping was very good, as was food at the only one of two restaurants open during their five-night stay. Despite the disappointments, they were happy with the hotel choice for the room comfort, scenery and view and would consider returning to the same unit or trying another Cayuga Collection resort.
