Their high-floor corner room had a lovely view, an excellent shower and heated bathroom floors. Food, including room service, was very good. The location suited Belvedere Palace and a favourite smaller Christmas market, with fewer crowds, appealing jewellery stalls and a memorable hot-dog stand; the railway station was close enough to walk to on departure. Staff stayed kind and helpful despite apparent holiday pressure. Check-in was a major frustration: arriving in the morning hoping for early access, the guest did not get the room until about 5:30pm on Christmas Eve. They thought the delay might have been to secure the upgraded room, but did not know. The bed was only adequate and pillows too flat, although thicker foam pillows were supplied on request. The hotel was not in the most central area; the guest mostly used Uber rather than the reportedly good subway. Overall, the stay offered appealing quality and value, particularly for Belvedere and museums, with holiday check-in delays and pillow comfort the main caveats.
