The guests loved the beautiful hotel and direct walk to DeVos Performance Hall for a show. Their room was clean and beds comfortable; a particularly warm doorman stood out. Reception was less welcoming. A long queue and malfunctioning digital key complicated check-in. The guest briefly left the line when the key request seemed complete, then returned when it had not worked; other guests did not object, but reception's tone felt unnecessarily curt without directly mentioning the queue position. An out-of-service lift added long waits at check-in and before dinner. They would return for the hotel and location but hoped for better reception, keys and lift reliability.
